Games you can actually play with one hand on a packed train

Commuting is the natural home of mobile gaming, and yet so many games demand two hands and your full attention. On a swaying train holding a rail, that's a non-starter. These are the ones built for real life.

Portrait orientation is the first thing I check. If I have to turn the phone sideways, that's one more hand I don't have spare. Arcade games like Coin Strike get this right because everything happens in a single thumb's reach.

The second thing is forgiveness. A good commute game lets you pause instantly, pick up mid-level, and not punish you when you look up for your stop. Anything with a strict timer or lives system that punishes interruptions gets cut.

My rule of thumb, literally, is this: if I can play it holding a coffee and a rail, it stays. Everything else waits for the couch.
